London Eye - Newhaven - Dieppe - Beauvais - Eiffel Tower

Join Adventure Velo on an iconic tour from London to Paris - Cycling through beautiful English and French countryside. We use a mix of the Avenue Verte, cycle lanes, quiet country roads, canal paths and forest trails as we make our way from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower.

Overnight stops include Dieppe, Beauvais and Paris.

The 3 night, 4 day tour is fully supported by the AV team with Crew van to carry luggage and tired riders, plus 2 guides making sure everyone stays on track - add in great routes, accommodation and food for the perfect cycling adventure!
ITINERARY
DAY 1 - After arriving in London we will meet nice and early at the London Eye (7am) for riders to check in and complete a briefing. We aim to be on the road nice and early so we have plenty of time to catch our afternoon ferry from Newhaven to dieppe. Todays ride is 60 miles and 2900ft of elevation.

Day 1's ride takes us from the London Eye to Newhaven and onto the ferry to Dieppe.
As we depart London we head along the Thames then down towards Clapham, Coulsdon and the beautiful Farthing Downs, heading towards Lewes and onto Newhaven. Today is the day with a time schedule as we want to catch the afternoon ferry to Dieppe. We will arrive into Dieppe approx 11pm where we will then have a very short cycle to our nights accommodation.
Tonights accommodation is in Dieppe harbour - rooms are twin rooms with breakfast included.
DAY 2 - After a restful night and hearty breakfast we head out onto day 2. Today we ride 69 miles and 2225ft of elevation. After breakfast and check out we start our first leg of the French journey on the Avenue Verte - a traffic free cycle route cycling through Normandy countryside towards our night stop of Beauvais. Along the route we will see glorious sites including French chateau's, wonderful rivers and beautiful countryside.
Today's route takes us on the Avenue Verte and quiet country lanes passing through Neufchatel en bray, Forges Les Eaux, Gourney en Bray and into Beauvais.
Tonights accommodation is a 4 star hotel over looking Beauvais Castle. Rooms are based on a twin basis with Breakfast included,
Day 3 - Today we reach Paris!! - cycling from Beauvais to Eiffel Tower - 65 miles 2775ft. The route takes us on quiet country lanes, forest trails and canal paths. We cycle past the beautiful Chateau de Montherlant, Parc aux Etoiles and Palace de Versaille before joining the Avenue de Longchamp, Arc de Triumph and our final destination of the Eiffel Tower.
Once we have celebrated our achievements and made the most of the photo opportunities we have a small cycle to our nights accommodation in the 11th arrondissement. Once rested from the days ride we will all meet for a celebration meal close to the hotel.

Day 4 - Today we say goodbye! After breakfast we check out of the hotel and make our way back to the UK or maybe extended time in Paris - maybe friends or family want to come and celebrate your achievement!

We do not include return travel in our packages as everyone may have different ideas about their time in Paris. The AV Team can guide you in all the options for return. The easiest return is the Eurostar back to London which is approx £55 plus £45 to transport your bike. Your bike must be in a bike bag which AV can purchase and transport for you for £35 ( you keep the bag at the end). Bikes need to be booked in advance on the return train. AV can help with all aspects of return journey.

EXCLUSIONS
You will notice that dinner is not included. Everybody likes different things to eat, we find it easier to make recommendations and then everyone can choose. In the evenings we like to let everyone enjoy the night stops as they wish. We of course have our favourite places to eat and you are more than welcome to join us!

It is the riders responsibility to get to and from London - we can recommend parking and accommodation if needed the night before.

You will need your own bike. You will be boarding the ferry as a foot passenger with your bike - ideally a gravel bike or road bike with chunkier tyres.

You will need to provide your own travel insurance for the trip
RIDER EXPECTATIONS
This challenge is classed as medium - you will need a decent level of fitness, you must be used to being in the saddle for a number of hours as we will be riding between 60 and 80 miles per day. We aim for an average speed of 13 miles per hour over the day. There will be times riding slower and faster than 13 mph to achieve the average of 13. You must be able to ride up hills. There is nothing that is not manageable but some of the hills are long and steady. This route with the hills and distance combined makes it a medium level challenge. Due to the mixed terrain we suggest a bike with larger more bobbly tyres ( not skinny 23/25's)
The tour includes everything you need for an unforgettable experience, the Adventure Velo team make sure your trip goes smoothly so all you have to concentrate on is peddling and taking in the amazing scenery.
COSTS
We like to keep our tour sizes low so everyone can have the best experience possible. This tour is limited to 14 spaces - Total cost for the tour is £800PP based on a twin room ( if you are travelling alone you will be paired with another rider) Single rooms are available at a supplement.
